Swashbuckling keeper-batter Ishan Kishan hit a sizzling century off just 86 balls against Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament at Thirunelveli on Friday.
The captain led Jharkhand from the front, devastating the opposition bowlers on Day 2 and ended his team’s batting at 277 for 7.
Ishan was brought in as number six, where he began carefully after being away from red-ball cricket, reaching a composed fifty off 61 deliveries. Nevertheless, after achieving his fifty he went nuts and raised it to a ton in no time.
With ten sixes and five fours, Ishan scored 114 out of 107 balls and his brutal innings came at a strike rate of 106.54.
Ishan made an appearance for the first time with a red ball since debuting for India in Test cricket during their tour to West Indies in July 2023; he looked like another class-act player combining aggression and caution flawlessly
Shubham S Kushwah (84) top-scored for the side when Madhya Pradesh were all out for 225 earlier.
