Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh and former Indian cricketer, has some some things to say about the World Cup winning captain’s Kapil Dev and Dhoni which did guitar skin causes. Singh’s Public Relations headache stemmed from how Yuvraj Singh cranked in savagery. And slammed Dhoni who carried out apparently a vendetta against Yuvraj’s career. There appeared a pattern in such statements following his outbursts directed towards Dhoni for having allegedly cut short Yuvraj’s career.
Recently Yograj Singh turned to Zee Switch where he spoke of how Yuvraj’s career went into a downward spiral and blamed Dhoni for it. Singh argued that because of Dhoni’s negative effect on his son, Yuvraj could have remained in the Indian team for “4-5 years more”.
“I will not pardon MS Dhoni, he need to behold his face in the mirror. He is a great cricketer, Yes I cannot ever forgive him for the manner in which he has treated my son. Everything is surfacing now, such actions are not acceptable in one’s lifetime. Two things I have never done in life, first is I’ve never forgiven those who’ve done wrong to me and second is I’ve never in my life embraced anyone, whether they are my young kids or relatives,” Yograj expressed himself saying.
Yograj’s discontent did not end at Dhoni. He even resorted to bashing Kapil Dev, by placing the achievements of his son in relation to that of the great’s. Yograj made it clear that Yuvraj brought home more silverware than Kapil in his career and that perhaps is a subtle form of ‘revenge’ that Yuvraj’s family had a long stomach for.
I can do that, I will make you do things in such a manner that the whole world will abuse you for nothing. I must speak? The best skipper of any team that ever walked this earth, Kapil Dev… Let s just say Shriju doesn’t give a blast. Today there are 13 trophies with Yuvraj Singh and you have one the world cup. Let’s consider the discussion closed, Yograj Singh remarked.
These remarks have led to criticism of Yograj on social media, where users have condemned the apparent insults directed at two of India’s cricketing legends and even left harsh comments towards Yograj. The scandal highlights the underlying issues which Raghav Singh is likely to have been unable to reconcile with concerning his history within the game of cricket and the way these issues most likely have shaped his communication to the public.
