A toss was never held on the first day of the one off test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand as there was rain earlier which resulted in wet outfield and therefore play was called off. The officials have planned in such a way as to achieve 98 overs on the second day. The Umpires gave close monitor of the activity of the first test at the site in Greater Noida near New Delhi at Afghanistan’s adopted home on Monday. However, despite the best sociable weather all day, the grounds staff had to do extra shifts to dry out wet areas of the pitch because of the previous warm weather. But the last 10 days have brought substantial rainfall. For both teams a number of practice sessions were canceled before the game.
