In a shocking incident at a polling station in Andhra Pradesh, a YSR Congress MP slapped a voter who allegedly objected to the legislator cutting the queue at a polling station in Guntur on Monday. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

A Sivakumar, MLA of the YSRCP led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, walked up to the elector and slapped him on the face. Still, voters responded with a slap in the face. Meanwhile, supporters of the MLA also joined him in launching a collective attack on voters.

Voting for the fourth phase of the general election is underway, involving 96 constituencies in 9 states and 1 Union Territory (UT). Polling for 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh went to the polls simultaneously on Monday.

The YSRCP government led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is in conflict with the alliance of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam Party.
In 2019, the YSR Congress party won 151 of the 175 parliamentary seats and formed the state government with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy becoming the chief minister.
