There has been a new development regarding the Ramayana which has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and which has been waited for rather impatiently across the globe. This film has garnered significant attention as it features a star-studded cast comprising of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles while the likes of Sunny Deol and others will be in prominent guest appearances. Though the shooting of the film has already started as several pictures of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi have already made their way on social media, recently it was informed that there would be participating Yash and Sunny Deol as well.
For the unversed, Yash is also the producer of the Ramayana and in the aforementioned movie, he will be playing Ravana’s character, Lankeshwar. Pinkvilla reports that the actor who is currently busy with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups and is said to join the cast in the month of December this year. These details were also confirmed by a source in the report and said, “Yash has done multiple look tests for the Ramayana and begins shooting in December 2024. He shifts to the period drama after wrapping up a substantial portion of his upcoming … Toxic. He looks forward to playing one of the most deep characters of Ramayana I.e. Lankesh.
Now where is Sunny Deol who also will be a part of the film as he is going to portray the character of Hanuman in the film. So Sunny Deol picks Ramayana after committing for Border 2. Similar to Ranbir, even Sunny Deol has earmarked bulk dates for Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for his role in Ramayana. The same document also mentioned that the objective of the producers is to assemble the three Ranbir, Sunny and Yash at the same location in mid 2025 to shoot for the joining sequences which involve all of them.
It may be noted by the readers that Ramayana is one epic movie with star cast like Lara Dutta, Ravi Dubey etc in prominent roles as well. The mythological story is believed to be coming in the format of trilogy and we may hear the official announcement soon. “The team is confident to bring the Ramayana on the spectacle in 2026 which is a labour of love for the team of Ramayana to the audience, and they are making sure that they miss no point in making a film which is representative of India to the world,” the source said.
