A forest guard at Thattekere lake, which is in the elephant corridor of Bannerghatta National Park, in the taluk of Kanakapura in Ramanagara District near Bangalore.

Forest Guard Madanna was on patrol at Dodda Bande forest Kalkere when a wild elephant attacked him and killed him by about 12.30a.m
While offering floral tribute to his remains, Minister for Environment Eshwar Khandre stated that he had been an expert on telling the presence of elephants in jungles where he worked under Forest Department for over fifteen years.
The family members would be awarded with ₹25 lakh as compensation. The Forest Department would give them employment as per compassionate appointments.
