Keir Starmer, the leader of the British Labour Party, is to be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after winning an impressive election.
Starmer’s new job will see him and his wife Victoria move from their current £1.75m house in Kentish Town in the parliamentary constituency of Holborn and St Pancras into 10 Downing Street London SW1 in the City of Westminster.
Who is Victoria Starmer?
Not much has been mentioned about her, despite her husband’s historic win; during the campaign week she maintained a low profile. The two are trained as lawyers and got married in 2007, one year before he became Director of Public Prosecutions.
In 2021, Starmer told Piers Morgan that their first meeting was at work – most unexpectedly. As a barrister preparing for court, he had asked to speak with whoever drafted some documents concerning a case. It turned out to be Victoria whom he heard say “Who does this person think they are?” before hanging up on him having questioned her about whether or not she had correctly drafted them.
Since then, Keir made continued efforts and they have never separated ever since then. “Vic is beautiful, she is grounded, we share values and we laugh together,” Starmer said.
At present Victoria works within occupational health for the NHS; Her parents are Jewish. “Half my family is Jewish- they’re either here or in Israel,” Stammer last month informed The Guardian while putting much emphasis on his desire alongside his wife’s desire for their children “to be very keen” with regards to knowing what makes up their cultural heritage.
The forthcoming move has also caused concerns among his children such that it could change everything. “Deep down they’re worried that this (their lives) could change,” he added stressing how strict measures will be taken to protect their privacy.
