On August 13, 2034 Suchetha Sathish, a native of Kannur who is only nineteen gave the money she raised through her concert to Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip for rehabilitation of Wayanad landslide victims. The concert took place in Kozhikode.

As a result of her talent and compassion, 19-year-old Suchetha Sathish – a Kannur-born girl from Kerala – has been able to raise above ₹30 lakh ($42,000) which have been directed towards rebuilding the lives of those who were affected by landslides in Wayanad. She had previously made it into the Guinness World Record for singing fluently in one hundred and fifty tongues.

This amount was collected at one of Suchetha’s recent concerts organized on August 12, 2024 in Kozhikode. Yesterday (on August 13), the collected funds were given to Beena Philip, Mayor of Kozhikode Corporation.

She expressed gratitude due to the recognition that came as a result of her ability to learn and perform using multiple languages and a call to give back because “I always dreamed my talent would someday serve a higher purpose and help change the world,” she told The Parami.

Noble Causes

Suchetha’s noble cause with this wonderful talent is not new. In front of COP28 UN climate summit, Dubai saw her sing in one hundred forty languages during a nine hour long ‘Concert for Climate’ on behalf of its citizens before COP28 UN climate summit held in 2023. It aimed at raising awareness about climate change worldwide.

The following year she donated all proceeds from her Onam hit Mazhayilum Mayathoru Onasmrithi worth Rs5 lakh (₹5000,000) to CMDRF after floods.

The Wayanad tragedy found Suchetha together with parents in Trivandrum. The Kozhikode concert had initially been scheduled for August 2 but just because of the calamity, it was pushed to August 12. At that moment she resolved to donate all the money raised from the concert for the rehabilitation of affected people.

Suchetha’s parents are dermatologist T.C. Satish and Ayilliath Sumitha who is a housewife and trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani Classical music.
