Hemavathi reservoir’s catchment area at Goruru in Hassan taluk experienced a torrential rainfall on Monday whereby the water level increased by almost two feet in just one day.
The water level yesterday was 2904.4 ft. This morning, it stands at 2,906.10 ft. The full reservoir level (FRL) of the reservoir is 2,922 ft. Inflow at 14,027 cusecs as of 6 a.m Tuesday.
The total storage capacity of Hemavathi Reservoir is 23.838 TMC and live storage capacity is 19.466 TMC for drawing from. On this date last year, the this had reached to 2893.52 ft while inflow was only 1,994 cusecs.
