The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is in transit to Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day trip where he will unveil different development projects and participate in International Yoga Day celebrations in Srinagar on Friday.
This is his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since being sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.
He’ll also take part in ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J-K’—a programme that focuses on youth-led development later this evening.
“Leaving for Srinagar, where I will be taking part in two programmes. Later this evening, I will be at the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ programme, which focuses on youth-led development,” reads his post on X. “I would be inaugurating key projects worth over Rs. 1500 crore and some of them would have their foundation stones laid. These works cover infrastructure, water supply, education and more.Tomorrow morning,I will participate in the Yoga day programme at Srinagar.”
It is going to inaugurate & lay foundation stone of multiple developmental projects across Jammu and Kashmir by PM Modi. Also Competitiveness Improvement is launching 1 – Agriculture & Allied Sector Project JKCP.
The Prime Minister will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC Srinagar around 6.30 am on June 21st. He will speak among other things during the event and then take part in CYP Yoga session afterwards.
The event “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” signifies an important moment for the area as it demonstrates advances while inspiring young people towards greater achievement. The Prime Minister will survey stalls and engage with young achievers from the region.
There are going to be foundation stone laying/inauguration ceremonies of these projects which shall empower youth and upgrade infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister shall also launch Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture & Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project, amounting to Rs.1800 crore. The project will be execute in 90 Blocks across 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, with outreach to 300,000 households covering 15 lakh beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister will also distribute appointment letters for over two thousand people who have been appointed into government service.
This year’s theme is “Yoga for Self and Society” which brings out the dual role of yoga in personal and societal well being. It would promote participation at grass root level and spread of yoga in rural areas.
