Counting commenced with postal ballot paper verification.
More than 150 employees are involved in this counting process at Panayapuram authorized count center.
The final result of this by-poll will be known probably by Saturday evening as it will reveal who among the 29 candidates including DMK candidate Anniyur Siva, PMK candidate C. Anbumani and Naam Tamilar Katchi nominee Abinaya Ponnivalavan will win this election.
1,95,495 voters out of a total electorate of 2,72,241 participated in the by-elections resulting in an impressive voter turnout of 82.48%.
