Being directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta and produced by Applause Entertainment, an Ellipsis Entertainment production, Do Aur Do Pyaar features a strong cast including Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy among others.
“Do Aur Do Pyaar is very special to me,” said the film director Shirsha Guha Thakurta. “It is about love today”. Perhaps today love cannot be a grand ‘all or nothing’ affair it used to be. You can’t map out modern love in one neat straight line – it isn’t black or white – perhaps even to say that might be more appropriate would be cyclical. It comes and goes. Falling in love is easy but maintaining it is harder. This kind of messy stuff that was real in my life was what we were trying to portray with our amazing actors- Vidya, Pratik, Ileana, and Senthil. Working with them had been a really awesome experience which will remain vividly etched in my mind forever. I am thrille that the audience can now see our film on Disney+ Hotstar. “I agreed without thinking twice because this story was different from any I’ve ever heard before,” says Kavya (Vidya Balan), who plays the role of Kavya in Do Aur Do Pyaar. “Do Aur Do Pyaar is a very unusual story, something that I have never got to do before and that is the reason why it was an instant yes for me. Also, the film poses the question of what is love and marriage and how they are not one and the same thing. We’ve seen this happening around us but we still don’t talk about it or understand its subtleties.

According to Pratik Gandhi while speaking on his role as Ani said, “Playing Ani felt like playing a part of myself—he’s quiet and keeps to himself.” Our director Shirsha wanted me to play my character in my natural way as if she was telling me how I would have done so.
