Video circulating online from early Friday in Texas shows a police officer being thrown from a moving vehicle while trying to arrest a woman, resulting in severe injury. As the officer lay unconscious on the ground, onlookers can be seen laughing and mocking him.
Footage from Beaumont shows a woman sprinting across a parking lot and leaping into a convertible, with a police officer chasing after her.
As the officer attempted to stop her by jumping into the car’s back seat, the woman suddenly accelerated, throwing the officer head-first onto the pavement.
The officer, who sustained a serious head injury, was left unconscious on the ground. Shockingly, a group of young bystanders responded with cheers and laughter as the officer lay injured.

“Yo, yo! Police! Step on my man!” someone shouted as the vehicle fled the scene, the New York Post reported.
Police later arrested Jamaysha Butler, the suspected driver of the car, who now faces charges of Intoxication Assault and Evading Detention, both stemming from serious bodily injury caused to a peace officer, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
The injured officer, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to hospital with a brain hemorrhage but is currently stable, according to KDFM.
Police also arrested 22-year-old Melissa Bell, who allegedly assaulted an officer during her arrest. According to KDFM, Bell kicked and kneed the officer while being escorted to a patrol vehicle.
Bell was taken into custody for public intoxication, resisting arrest, interference with public duties, assault on a peace officer, and outstanding warrants. Both the woman had prior arrests.
The incident sparked inappropriate reactions across social media platforms.
