The Fox News report indicates that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has informed about pulling back more than 2,000 pounds of frozen ready-to-eat chicken products due to possible listeria contamination. The action was taken by a Canada’s Al Safa US LLC because some people feared that the meat could be having Listeria monocytogenes which is responsible for infecting people with the disease known as listeriosis.
According to them, these products were made in Canada on June 5th and then later brought into other United States on June.
On Friday, however, FSIS stated that Al-Safa US LLC have recalled its 2,010 pound product from Mississauga, Ontario in Canada.
FSIS’ routine testing for products like this one showed that there was an infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes. These frozen goods being recalled bear the Canadian mark inspection seal inside which there is establishment number “866”. Similarly, it was produced on June 5, 2024 in Canada that imported it on June 13 and June 21 to North America where it was dispatched to retailers across America.
