The US has flatly explained that it will support the restrictions imposed on the Pakistani authorities every way in order to preserve U.S. national interests and prevent U.S. financial apparatus from being used by spreading centers.
During an official briefing at the State Department on Tuesday Matthew Miller, spokesman for the department, said: “We have been clear how concerns with Pakistan’s ballistic missile programme. Within many years.”
‘We were very clear that there will be no provision of assistance to Pakistan in its long range ballistic missile programme, and these sanctions and such other – other tools that we will be using, will help protect the United States of America’s’ national security and in this case obliteration, I mean no proliferators will benefit out of the US financial system,’ Miller stated.
The previous week, however, the state ministry issued sanctions in respect of a Chinese research institute, its national, and three Chinese companies indicating that they delivered missile-related items to Pakistan. Pakistan responded by pointing out that such an action by Washington was discriminatory and politically motivated. The rationale for the imposition of a similar measure against commercial subjects in the past baselessy drafted restraints of control-over items which weren’t even of control for export.
Miller made an emphasis at the round table about the fact that the Chinese educators have worked with Pakistan to obtain certain components for Shaheen 3 and Ababeel missile systems and it is very possible for any of the larger systems as well.
Miller explained, regulatory steps taken by the US recently included proposals against China’s Hubei Huachangda Intelligent Equipment Co, Universal Enterprise and Xi’an Longde Technology Development Co as well as against some Pakistani firms and a Chinesenational assistance for deliberate equipment under missile technology control regime.
The spokesperson further in the context also had to respond to a query dealing with the actual motives and apprehensions that lay behind the decision to impose sanctions on a regional organization which cooperated with a number of firms supplying Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. “I mean in conclusion that US takes duties so pledge that US willing to invoke focus on strengthening international nonproliferation regime through actions at networks which are dealing with proliferation concern,” spoke the spokesperson.
