In a thrilling food venture which is sweeping through social networking sites, an American baking creator Maria Baradell has come under fire after she tried to bake bread while on board a plane. In the viral footage, Baradell is seen making a mixture of flour, salt, and water in a flight to Spain while her seat serves as Bakery in the air at a height of 30000 feet.
“Would you like to see how they all turned out?” Baradell teases into the clip in which she embellishes a lump of dough for the oven, an oven which still is situated on land. In a follow up, she explains how she meant to bake the bread once she got to Spain and met up with her sister. Unfortunately, the in-flight baking antics didn’t sit pretty well with the audience.
Dissension from social media users came quickly as they saw the action as not just irrational but also unhygienic. One user said, “What happens when you settle down into your seat only to see your neighbour arranging their models and a mini cooker in front of them? This is a flight and not a cooking class.”
Could hygiene be an issue? A flight attendant weighed in, mentioning how people are unable to use the lavatory appropriately onboard — vomit, diaper changes — and asked how sensible it was to be baking bread on a plane in the first place. “The flour could easily disperse making it harder for such patrons with allergies to cope,” reminded one user.
Baradell of the ”#MileHighDoughnutSips” effort, that has got its claim to fame on its first outing, set forth with imitation on shock-creativity (and shock-abuse), admitted the discontent. “#milehighsourdoughclub will not be a thing. I was just being creative.” Thank you for the input — I realised that it isn’t a very good idea. “One made the bread while vacationing in Barcelona and the whole thing of going to bakeries has been the best adventure I have ever had.”
