The Nagole police of Rachakonda suspended a Sub Inspector and an Assistant Sub Inspector and attached Nagole’s Station House Officer (SHO) following their negligence in recording a case, according to the order from its police chief. Additionally, the SHO of Uppal was also charged with looting from a couple that led to his transfer to the commissioner’s office.
According to an official in the commissionerate, Madhu G and Anjaiah J, both SI and ASI respectively for the Nagole incident, did not answer when they received 100 dial calls informing them about ten men beating up a person. “It was also revealed that the Nagole SHO P. Parashuram had asked the victim, who belonged to the Scheduled Caste community, to remove his caste in his complaint and write a fresh petition,” said an official.
There were personal enmities between this man’s attackers and him which were informed by their knowledge of his social status.
Another officer from The Hindu spoke about it saying Uppal cases had one of its SHOs called N.Election Reddy alleged of extorting money from couples while at work got transferred to headquarters among others. The officer stated that he too was on leave during those days but there were allegations against other SIs at his station regarding extorting couples.
