On Saturday, Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, announced that its commander Ahmed Wahbi had been killed during an Israeli attack on the peripheral regions of Beirut.

Wahbi, appointed in 2022 and active in planning the Radwan special forces wars against Israel in Gaza until his elimination in early 2024, died on Friday.

Ibrahim Bitar, commander of the Radwan force and the second in command of Hezbollah in most of Freetown city operations including the July 2006 war, was killed by Israel in a targeted lethal strike on 4 March 2013.

An explosion has been reported in the southern suburbs of the Lebanon with dense smoke covering Beirut from the skies after residents who were in the vicinity reported a loud sound.

Al-Qaim Mosque at the Southern suburb of Beirut was attacked by Israeli warplanes and it was confirmed by the AFP news agency as a Lebanese security source.

The US had placed a reward of 7 million dollars for any information on Aqil because he is listed as a ‘key player’ of an organization alleged to have helped in the US Embassy in Beirut bombing which claimed 63 lives in 1983.

As for the White House’s national security station manager — spokesman John Kirby, responded that he is not aware of such notification from Israel about the strikes against Beirut on Friday to the United States. He further urged all American citizens in Lebanon to move out immediately or risk being stranded.

Before, Hezbollah fired 140 rockets to the northern part of Israel after the woman’s leader Hassan Nasrallah, had said he will retaliate against Israel’s recent long tender.

The Israeli army said that the rockets were launched in three waves on Friday afternoon, with the stated intention of hitting different parts of the lebanese border.

It had also stated that 120 rockets were aimed at Golan Heights, Safed and Upper Galilee, some of which were intercepted. Hot shots in the military were mobilized to put off infernos caused by falling debris in various places. None of the military reports indicated any level of casualties besides that of average citizens or any level of successful target strikes.

The conflict which was initiated following the Hamas savagery on the people of Israel on October 7 has now advanced to the northern part of Lebanon with Israel and Hezbollah engaging in back and forth fighting across borders.
