On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that Gods should be separated from politics and asked to provide proof if any opinions were presented that the Tirupati laddus might have had contaminated ghee as well standing there.
“Lab reports prima facie do not make it out so clearly that adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of laddus,” Justice B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan Bench said B.
In addition, questioning the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, the Supreme court asked why wasn’t Mr. Chandrababu naidu more circumspect before going to the press?
Justice Gavai said constitutional functionaries sitting in high office must and be more circumspect. He said “the substance used could have been soyabean or palm oil. It may not have been fish oil”.
“A minimum we seek is that the Gods are not dragged into politics,” the Bench said.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued in the Bench that if it is a religious matter. Then it is a problem if contaminated ghee was added in the preparation of laddus.
The Bench is hearing allegations and seeks an investigation regarding the claims of animal fat applied in making Tirupati laddus. The Court has listed the matters for the next hearing on October 3, which includes the applications for monitoring the investigation by the Court.
Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has claimed earlier this month that during the previous regime of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy animal fat was utilized for the making of Tirupati laddus, provoking a huge political storm.
President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s part has crtisised Mr Naidu: When he is a ‘henious allegations’ politics has no staight direction.
