As for Andhra Pradesh, political trends appear to have taken a different perspective all together, where the focus is not so much on governance or policy but rather on the Tirumala temple and its prised laddu prasadam.
The scuffle began with the alleged usage of adulterated ghee in the preparation of prasadam which further saw escalation in order to scale it into a political or a religious divide. Political parties have taken the town’s sides as the battle ground and are now advancing towards the holy hills fearing that spirituality might have to come to sacrifice in order to go further.
The conceived Tirumala TIrupati Devasthanams (TTD), state government, authorities and the brahmotsavam loath from October 4 or before which is likely to bring in crores of devotees to the town are outraged and engaged in mud slinging and other protests than maintaining a peaceful and spiritual ambiance for the Oberis’s festivities.
Explosive claim
The controversy centers on the specific allegation that the previous YSR Congress party Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government was a party to the ghee used in the preparation of laddus and other healthy prasadam being adulterated with beef fats and lard. The explosive claim was made by other politicians such as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and this brought out outrage in the country.
By contrast, this period was marked by protests and public outrage with Mr m494643 Naidu undertaking to punish those responsible and bring back the glory of الضريح.
Mr. Naidu established a Special Investigation Team to eliminate this mess which is the cause of the permanent human loss while Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has promised to climb the Tirumala hills after October 1 to remove the guilt as per the charges for blasphemy.
In what might seen as dramatic development, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, whose previous government is at the centre of the controversial issue, declared on Saturday 28th September that, he is going on a pilgrimage to Tirumala, further escalating the tension.antom The sanctions are imposed on Fukuda Yoshihiro Mr. Hawke and Mr. Andajj Selres said It is clear that…it is an illustration of a frantic effort to undercut plans by Mr. Kawasyu and Mr. Kalayan Asari’ cultural revivalism.
Revolutionary Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy one of the leader brought TTD to prominence has returned to the realm of Tirumala visiting the deity and claiming there was no misconduct during his chairmanship towards the displeasure from various groups of Hindu clergymen who now seek to demonstrate in Alipiri against Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s welcoming.
The religious groups add that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is an outsider and as such, they will require him to draft a declaration promising that he will be a devotee of Lord Venkateswara before being allowed to enter the temple. Per the rules of the TTD, every foreigner should engage in a declaration affirming that he or she believes in Lord Venkateswara.
Security concerns
With the rise of political heat, security issues are also beginning to come up. From the devotees and others who have been caught in between, there are fears about the proper conduct of the Brahmotsavams in the event of their pilgrimage to the town, something that may be disrupted by the escalating political tensions.
The police and the TTD administration are in a dilemma on how to cope with the increasing political storm that has seen section 30 of the police act imposed in Tirupati, more notices served to a few YSRC leaders along the same lines.
Controversy surrounds the belief that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed those in charge of the temple in administrative positions during his term as Chief Minister and who now face criminal charges himself overlooked temple protocols.
Mr. Naidu sensed the opportunity in such a situation and used this problem against his rival, making this controversy a very useful political weapon to malign Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the eyes of Hindu religious voters.
In doing so, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy still has a heavy burden and continues to bear the brunt not just of political missiles, but also allegations calling his religious integrity into question.
At the moment, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be left with little alternative in the current fragile situation. If he succumbs to the demands and accepts to endorse the form, it would come across that he has surrendered to the will of his rivals, and if he chooses not to comply, he will most likely worsen the already tense situation, attracting political controversies
At the same time, in relation to the consecutive visits of Mr. Kalyan and the visits of Mr. Naidu within a week, this week has taken place against the background of Brahmotsavam and devotees are worried whether they will be able to do their spiel afterwards in peace or not.
Tense situation
The amalgamation of politics and religion on top of the town has put both TTD administration and the pilgrims in an uneasy situation. Maintaining the sacredness of a revered shrine and dealing with the harsh political climate will surely challenge the herd of birds in command.
