Even as former President Donald Trump says ‘it’s too late’ to have another debate, Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday once again made it clear that the MAGA supremo should consider the proposal for a public engagement on CNN next month as the race enters its final phases.
“Join me on the debate stage. Let’s have another debate. I do believe that there is more out there that the voters of America should hear from us in terms of the discussions that I think we ought to be having, so, on the substantive issue, on the matter of what they want soon, policies, etc.,” Upon being asked on what was her message to Trump, Harris replied on Sunday – “My question is for him why he step back from the fight.”
Kamala Harris also voiced hope that perhaps this time her opponent, a former president would change his mind and through their public addresses speak about the issues at hand.
“Stop looking for a reason to run away from the battle that you should welcome,” Kamala Harris said at some fundraiser matching up to her tone earlier.
On Saturday, Former Trump entered the day expecting to have one more sparing session with his rival the Democrat nominee with the last straw of all the Trump Harris campaigns on the schedule of the next debates with the confirmation of a new debate on CNN to be held on the 23 of October 8 weeks after there previous one on ABC on September 10.
Trump, the former president of the United States, pointed out that it is “too late for that” to hold another debate as American’s have started to cast their votes in the 2024 elections. Speaking at a rally in North Carolina, Trump told the supporters, “The reason why you don’t have another debate is that it’s too late now. It’s too late now. Voting is in progress.”
Still, Harris conceded on Sunday that the fight was still very much on and with over a month to go, it starts getting very interesting. “This race is incredibly close—it is, I believe, within the margin of error,” she states.
Kamala Harris’ campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, recently shared some chilling news as well, stating that the Vice President has agreed to participate in the debate. “The vice president is ready to face Donald Trump in a new debate and has confirmed participation in the CNN event on October 23”.
