The TGSRTC made a revenue of Rs 32 crore on this year’s Raksha Bandhan. According to the transport giant, while 92 out of its 97 depots had an occupancy ratio more than 100%, around 63 lakh passengers travelled in buses on a single day.
In addition, instead of the usual 33 lakh km daily record, TGSRTC buses on Raksha Bandhan ran up to 38 lakh kilometers. The additional five kilo meters were recorded on Monday (August 19, 2024).
“This Mahalakshmi Scheme is implemented effectively,” stated TGSRTC vice-chairman and managing director VC Sajjanar and “The Corporation has transported safely over forty one point seven four lakhs women at their appropriate destinations in one day.”
