The Telangana Real Estate Development Authority (RERA) has sent notices to the following projects for violating regulations: Pragna Ecospan (Miyapur), Sri Siddhi Vinayaka Property Developers (Chintalkunta), Northeast Habitations (Kondapur), V. R. Promoters & Developers (Sangareddy), Invest Infra project (KPHB Colony) and Bharati Lake View Tower Builders (Kompally) — on Sunday.
These companies have been directed to respond within 15 days from the date of receipt of such notices. The board, however, stressed that only those real estate enterprises registered with GHMC/HMDA/DTCP/UDA/TGIIC and other local agencies whose plans are approved should sell their respective flats or plots to the public at large. It also urged people not to fall into the trap of pre-launch offers and to invest in projects registered under RERA.
However, developers who advertise housing schemes without proper registration or approval will face legal action because this opposes against RERA Act. For further verification of this information, residents may go through TG-RERA site where they can find all details about registered projects including legal titles, ongoing works as well as completion schedules.
Within 11 months since it was established, 2,338 projects have been registered and there have been rulings on 210 complaints so far. In total 8,270 projects were approved but 918 violated the regulations on which fines aggregating ₹30 crore were imposed of which ₹13.70 crore has been collected till now.
