A temple chariot was burnt off in Kanekal Mandal of the district in the early hours on Tuesday September 24 2024, On Tuesday.
As per the information strutted in here, unknown criminals burnt the chariot in Lord Rama temple at Hanakalahal village. The fire was doused completely but not before the chariot was already reduced to rubbles.
Police have taken the statement of witnesses who came to the scene shortly after the incident and checked several CCTV footage in the area in search of the missing vandals.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his strong concern regarding the incident and held discussions with the District officials over the burning of the chariot. Officials apprised Mr.Naidu that some irrational hooligans were a reason for such incidence.
Mr.Naidu instructed the police to do in depth investigation into the incident and apprehend the offenders. He asked the officials to keep him posted on the progress of the investigation from time to time.
The District Collector and the Superintendent of Police are reported to have directed that the village be visited and the condition of things ascertained.
The incident occurred amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirumala Laddu.
