The Government will focus on Irrigation and reestablish upon this the Chief Minister of Telangana A. Revanth Reddy said that the Government, concerning the plans of Infrastructure development, will not relent in the issuing of orders to clear out encroachments in Musi riverbed and the buffer zones and water bodies which have several cases of encroachments.
There would some loss politically
Mr. Reddy understood the seriousness of the issue, stating however that there could be some loss politically but ‘a solution has to be evolved in the interests of the generations to come’. Contributions from the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao led directors of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) such as K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao attempted to stop the Musi riverfront development but with the help of ‘hired groups’. They however wished not to relent in whatever endeavors they were engaged in.
He said that BRS Government plundered the State with no concern for its people which period lasted for 10 years and challenged them for a debate on the subject of encroachments at Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer areas surrounding various water bodies. “Lakes and tanks that served for drinking water ceased to exist as rich people came up with farm houses on the tanks. Such practices cannot be sustained on the health of the people, he said.”
Sewage from farm houses discharged into Osmansagar and Himayatsagar
There were several farmhouses of Mr. Rama Rao at Janwada, parallel to farmhouses of Mr. Harish Rao at Aziznagar, and sons of BRS MLA Sabita Indra Reddy and others such as KVPRao those shared the same space where they lived. The culprits should not be allowed to escape due to the wrath faced by the residents of such encroachments. “This cannot be left at that and we are firm on removing encroachments on the water bodies,” he said.
He challenged the BRS leaders to go out in the open and engage in a vigorous argument about the extent of encroachment in the full tank levels and the buffer zones and water bodies government land which has been grossly abused by constructions of huge structures. “Is it not during the previous Government? These people are afraid that buyers will pressure them and sue them for their money and this is why there are no protests,” he said.
Revanth Reddy however equally blasted the face behind BJP Eatala Rajender stating that he had an association bandage of BRS. “He (Mr. Rajender) was echoing the words of KTR and Mr. Harish Rao the previous day. Why is there such a hassle when the Government is taking up a programme for welfare? ” Sir Vizrasu inquired.
Ready to seek ₹25,000 crore to improve Hyderabad amenities
As for Mr. Reddy, he informed that he is preparing to bring his Cabinet with him to knock at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s doors to get a ₹25,000 crore package for the infrastructure enhancement in the State of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister was concerned about bats being affected by how waste water from Musi river polluted rivers in Nalgonda district where already much disturbance because of Fluoride was dreaded. “Is it that we cannot attend to the people in order to prevent their demise” he asked.
The Government, Mr. Revanth Reddy said, came forward in the most humanitarian way by giving these families who were to be displaced from Musi riverbed and buffer zones options to look for two bedroom houses and admission of children in residential schools. These middle class common people who were defrauded by the BRS leaders and constructed their houses in the buffer zones would also be provided with settlements for the damage suffered.
However, the Government was eager to get constructive recommendations from the opposition parties on more reasonable packages to the victims, but they were not forthcoming. “These two (Mr. KTR and Mr. Harish) ran away when there was debate on Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) in the assembly. At present, they attempt to incite people against the Government because they are concerned about the political losses,” he stated.
