Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and the chief secretary to Telangana Government, A. Santhi Kumari participated with the Director General of Police Ravi Gupta in an anti drug awareness held on 25 June 2024 at Hyderabad on the eve of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The rally was led by Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB).

Speaking during a seminar to mark International Day against Drug Use and Illicit Trafficking, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana assured that his government would deal ruthlessly with all drug traffickers regardless of their social standing.
“I will not tolerate drug abusers whatsoever since we believe in a drugs-free society,” he stated. While speaking at Necklace Road in Hyderabad during the event organized by Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau under International Day against Drug Use and Illicit Trafficking on Tuesday.
During the occasion, Mr. Vikramarka also launched an anti-drug song as well as prayed for a few minutes. Besides Chief Secretary Santi Kumari, Telnagana DGP Ravi Gupta, TGNAB Director Sandeep Shandilya and Hyderabad Police Commissioner K. Srinivasa Reddy were also present.
The deputy CM noted that this drug menace had been responsible for many young people failing to participate productively in shaping future destiny of their country. Hence it should be fought by all means accessible to every person concerned. He added that those who were responsible for drug trafficking could easily be identified since. They were strong enough to apprehend them as well as guise intelligent security agents. He urged members of public to assist officers in combating this vice.
According to Mr Vikramarka who doubles up as state’s Finance Minister. There is no shortage of funds on prevention of illegal drug trafficking in the state and since. It will be adequately allocated for enhancing men and mechanism to combat the menace.
The Deputy CM urged young people not to succumb to the ill motives of some anti-social elements who tempt them into drug abusing. He reminded youth that all society suffers when any person is addicted with drugs or other social vices including parents.
