India’s #MeToo movement started with Tanushree Dutta claiming that in 2008. Nana Patekar, a senior actor, sexually molested her on the movie set. However, the campaign did not go well for her. Consequently she has gone to an extent of accusing Patekar with “criminal intimidation” and “physical harm.”

On Instagram, Tanushree Dutta responded to Patekar’s denial of her accusations. She pointed out that he previously slapped a child while shooting and claimed it was part of the script before eventually apologizing following social media outcry. Dutta expressed doubt about his timing in relation to the #MeToo movement, suspecting she might take more legal actions against him.
She wrote, “After the varanasi boy slapping incident. Nana Patekar has been exposed as a big liar who first tried to make us believe that slap was part of shoot & then got severe public backlash for trying to hide his crime. And within no time he went back on his words & apologized half heartedly only. Why take 6 years to respond to #metoo???”
The former Miss India Universe 2004 described several incidents that disturbed her deeply. She also stated she had been followed by strangers, involved in “freak accidents” and attempts were made on her life through poisoning or otherwise. The actress emphasized an attempt was made to keep her quite and under control. In addition, she noted that “I’ll tell u why…because he knows that I may be contemplating another FIR on Nana for conspiracy murder, criminal intimidation & threat, stalking and causing physical harm,” she wrote in one post.
During last few years some unknown groups of people harassed me badly sometimes because they were after some money from me. I’m being followed/stalked by strangers wherever I go”. Freak Accidents and several attempts at poisoning using different substances persistently ensued.” There have also been a few instances where someone tried putting me into dangerous situations involving strangers.”
She said further: “Nothing but strange events kept happening around me & my life seemed like all these people were hire goons. I was in some situations that appeared similar to what SSR must have gone through but I survived all of them luckily. Nana has a criminal background so who do you think was behind all this (Nana proudly boasts in youtube interviews about being closely related to deceased underworld gangster Manya Surve).
According to him, I should have died by now as per his plan but God saved me. And he is not confident now and Bollywood supporters are reducing day by day. He thought that I would be dead by now according to his plan but I survived. And now he is scare and his supporters base in Bollywood has dwindled. All those who supported him are either bankrupt, lost their status or have sidelined him. People can see through his manipulations now and thus he comes up with another major gaslight.”
In conclusion, she said: “Nana Patekar is a pathological liar whose every director. He has worked with shares numerous stories of manipulative & abusive behaviour on the sets. Are they all liars?? If he can slap and hit directors then misbehavior with women is no big deal for him, don’t u think?? Even Veteran actress Dimple Kapadia called him “obnoxious” in a viral YouTube interview. She is also lying??? What happened there was the Varanasi boy got slapp by Nana Patekar right? He was also lying?”
Her 2019 harassment case against Patekar failed because there were no witnesses present at the time of the incident. Any kind of additional investigation may come out if her fresh claims are take seriously.
