On Tuesday, 9th July 2024, M.K Stalin the Chief Minister went and paid a visit to T.N. BSP leader K. Armstrong’s family, who was killed due to assassination act.
The former president of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), T.N., Mr. Armstrong was killed in his house at Sembium by an unidentified gang on July 5 and this was confirmed by the police stating that those who have been arrested were part of a group that had put on cloths for delivery men.
The CM made a tweet after his visit which said “I have assured her [Porkodi] that all those involved in this brutal killing would be brought to book and will face whatever punishment as per law to instill justice.” He further explained that government has taken serious measures against the apprehended alleged offenders.
He added that “it is a government for everyone and the police shall be fair.”
Police have so far arrested eleven individuals suspected of being involved in the murder case.
Mayawati who is also known as Behenji attended the burial of Armstrong on Sunday, July 7th where thousands of mourners participated and pleaded with TN government to transfer this matter from state police force to CBI.
Similarly, he demanded the intervention of CBI but added that Tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin should bear personal responsibility for initiating it transparently according to him. In contrast, Selvaperunthagai urged for immediate arrests of culprits while advising stern treatment by law enforcers against those involved into such acts.
It may be mentioned here that Sandeep Rai Rathore has been transferred within two days after Armstrong’s assassination and A. Arun has been appointed as new Commissioner of Police Chennai who took charge from Additional Director General (Law & Order) on Monday, July 8th 2024.
