Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated virtually over 4,100 houses built by Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) and more than 1,400 houses built by Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) on July 22, 2024 in various locations throughout the state.
In an official release, a total of ₹541.32 crore were spent while constructing 4,184 TNUHDB housing units as well as a TNHB commercial complex and another 1,459 TNHB government employees’ quarters that costed ₹382.84 crore.
In Chennai’s Kargil Nagar and Thiruchinankuppam sites are there for Manali-Pudhu Nagar in Tiruvallur district and Thammanampatti in Theni district Balan Nagar in Pudukkottai district and ones at Nilgiris district too among other places. Area per unit measures about four hundred square feet and the units have campus amenities.
In Saidapet there is TNHB Quarters for Govt Servants at Todhunter Nagar and in Ariyalur. In any event they put a shopping center up at Ashoka Colony situated in Chennai.
The event was attended by Housing Minister S. Muthusamy, MSMEs Minister (who also holds TNUHDB portfolio) T.M. Anbarasan, Health Minister Ma.Subramanian, Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar ,Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena along with senior bureaucrats and other officials .
