Due to the escalating tensions in Middle East, United Airlines will no longer be flying to Israel daily starting from the Wednesday night Newark-Tel Aviv flight. Delta Air Lines has also stopped flights between New York (JFK) and Tel Aviv at least until August 2.
“We are suspending our daily Tel Aviv service indefinitely beginning with tonight’s flight from Newark Liberty as we evaluate next steps given our security concerns,” a USAToday spokesperson told USA today. “We will continue monitoring the situation closely and decide on when to resume services taking into consideration both crew and passenger safety.”
“Delta flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv will be paused through Friday, August 2, due to ongoing conflict in the region. Sales of flights for DL234 on July 31 and August 1, and DL235 on 1 and August 2 are suspended,” said an airline official. “Passengers affected by these schedule changes will receive notifications via Fly Delta app or other contact information listed in their reservation.”
Through till August 14th Delta has issued a waiver for travel involving Israel allowing passengers to make any necessary adjustments without paying extra amount as fare difference if there is any change in fare prices. The company will be constantly assessing security situation advising customers of further changes continuously.
