The Australian man, Paul Bartels bound in a drug case connected to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has been set free by a Mumbai court. This is an important move as far as the ongoing investigations concerning this high-profile case are concerned.
Acquittal Due To Lack of Evidence
According to PTI, Bartels and Agisilaos Demetriades’ pal, was detained by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in November 2020 for suspected Bollywood drug abuse. On analyzing the matter up, Special Judge Mahesh Jadhav found no substantial evidence linking Bartels with all drug-related matters.
This report states that the main basis of arresting Bartels was his accomplices’ statements which do not become evidence unless supported by independent materials as per Court Order of India. Thus, it was concluded by the court that there are no facts against BarteIs to go on with this matter.
Still under Investigation
It is important to note that this does not have any effect on the overall probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is still investigating what happened around his suicide.
