Sunny Deol, the star of Border (1997), one of the most loved characters in the movie, is expected to come back with a bang as his action packed role will be seen in the sequel alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Reports close to it indicate that work on this film has already begun and those responsible have now decided when they want it to go on flooors.

Furthermore, this source added that there were some fresh developments regarding the film where we found out that they are expected to start filming it by October 2016. The insider stated, “The team has been tirelessly working behinds scenes for Border 2 for quite some time now and took longer than expected due to how big their first was. With planning almost complete, shooting can commence since everything is already set up although at present the plan is that shooting starts in October.”
However, earlier sources had also commented on what happened next when it comes down to what happens next detailing a plotline which said it would not just be “another sequel” but rather explained that , “Border 2 isn’t going to be a sequel but instead it’s about events unfolding same night after border events took place. It wasn’t only our Indian army who fought Longewala battle; we had our navy as well as air force involved too so through three perspectives will border 2 recapture moments of all three wings of our Indian armed forces.”
The movie will hit screens on republic day weekend in 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar.
