The Kozhikode City Police and the Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities (CRC) on Sunday organised an event at Mananchira where a large number of people sang the patriotic song ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha’ in sign language.
It was held to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. A release claimed that around 3,000 people attended the event. The participants included police personnel, CRC officials, students, and student police cadets (SPC).
Minister for Public Works P.A. Mohamed Riyas inaugurated the event. Ahammad Devarkovil, MLA, and K. Sethuraman, Inspector-General of Police (North Zone), among others, were present.
Ahead of it, an extensive training programme was held for all the SPCs in 36 schools in the district, along with teachers and other students.
