NEW DELHI: Highwayengineers of NHAI are sometimes joining private highway builders and consultants in as little as a year. However, NHAI employees do not fall under this category as most of them are not Group/A officers like their counterparts It was stated thus by notification from the authority that “For the purpose of NHAI/Government, Rule 9 of Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 2021 on Commercial employment of NHAI officers/employees after retirement” will be applicable.
According to it; any commercial employment within one year after retirement must first be approved by the authority before being accepted by any former or present employee of the NHAI.
The details required include; name of the organization’s business and type if business entity, whether or not there has been any previous dealings between company and employee at question for last three years. The particulars should also embrace tenure and kind of official dealing with corporation as well presence of job advertisement. Authorities should provide academic qualifications necessary for work in a corporate sector and what sort future job entails.
“Additionally, staff members must give an assurance that such proposed employment does not compromise with NHAI policies dealt with during last three years through written undertaking. This undertaking will also contain a provision for revocation in case government objects”.
