Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, also famous as Jani master, has come under fire after a 21-year-old woman accused him of sexual harassment. The complaint lodged at the Raidurgam police station in Hyderabad puts the blame on the choreographer for persistent sexual harassment in several cities.
Details of the Allegation
Due to the reports, several incidents had been reported, the main one being, the complainant – a young choreographer who had been with Jani Master for the last few months, had said that she was abused on several occasions while out on shoots. In her narration, such events were reported in Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and at her home in Narsingi. This particular case has now been referred to the Narsingi police for more investigation.
Charges Filed Against Jani Master
A zero FIR was lodged and Jani Master has been arrested based on the complaint. Several sections of the Indian Penal Code (ipc) are invoked against him including rape, criminal intimidation, and injury by dangerous weapons. While many have lauded the work of police agencies, including Shikha Goel T Director General of Women Safety Wing WSW Telangana, tracing the public about the case, has also promised concrete results.
Jani Master’s Response Awaited
Up to this moment, Jani Master has not made any formal remarks given the allegations. His other recent activities such as reportedly choreographing popular songs including ‘Aayi Nai’ from Stree 2 have kept him in the limelight.
Apart from Bollywood, Jani master also enjoys prominence in the Telugu film industry and has done considerable work in Kannada films. Besides Stree 2, he has also worked on several hit numbers like ‘Photocopy’ from Jai Ho, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, ‘Aaj Ki Raat’, etc.
