The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam Division, has started operating special bus services to and from Nagore in Nagapattinam district from December 1 in view of the annual “Nagore Dargha Kandoori festival”.
According to a TNSTC release, the special buses will be operated to link Nagore with Chennai, Tiruchi, Karur, Pudukottai, Madurai, Chidambaram, Ramanathapuram, Thanjavur, and Kumbakonam till December 12. In addition to this, special buses will also be operated on Nagapattinam-Nagore and Karaikal-Nagore sector and ‘circular services’ to link the temporary vehicle parking areas such as Nagapattinam ITI Grounds, Model School Grounds, and the Vennar riverbund parking area with Nagore.
Further, 100 special services will be operated on December 11 when the ‘sandal pot’ procession will be held, the release added.
