On Wednesday, Kothagudem town’s tendu leaf traders and contractors had a meeting with Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju.
According to sources, traders and contract workers who provide tendu leaves from the Left-Wing extremist affected areas of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district bordering Chhattisgarh attended the meeting.
Concerned about challenges facing traders along Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, Mr Rohith Raju queried about issues affecting them and requested that they protect Adivasi people who entirely depend on tendu leaf collection for extra income.
Informing this correspondent here today, police sources said that the SP wanted them to take precautions while moving in agency areas and immediately report to police on movement of rebels of banned CPI (Maoist).
