Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Zaheer Iqbal’s recent wedding on June 23 has ignited criticism from a Hindu fringe group in Patna who labelled it as “love jihad.”
Posters Sprout-Up In Patna
Posters put up across the town of Patna by Shivbhavani Sena, an organization affiliated to majority Hindu religious sect, claims that the union is aimed at Islamicizing India. They inform her that she will not be allowed access to Bihar. The group also warned Shatrughan Sinha the former actor turned politician and father to Sonakshi who is believed to have introduced her into showbiz. They argued that he should change his mansion located in Mumbai called ‘Ramayana’ along with his sons – Luv and Kush – names that they allege are insults on the Hindu religion.

Shatrughan Sinha Responds to Accusations
Shatrughan Sinha came out in defense of his daughter’s marriage arguing it was a private choice and did not violate any laws. He advised them on how they could make better use of their time.
Sonakshi & Zaheer Choose Not To Speak
The posters remain unanswered by either Sonakshi Sinha or Zaheer Iqbal publicly though they would later shut down comments after sharing some snaps taken during their wedding day which might be interpreted as an attempt to evade negativity. According to reports, Sonakshi Sinha had been dating Zaheer for seven years before they secretly tied the knot at a registrar’s office in Mumbai last week where only close family and friends were invited.
