A Bollywood actor and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contestant from Gorakhpur constituency, Ravi Kishan claimed that half a dozen opposing parties will be wiped out of existence and their candidates lose their deposits when the Lok Sabha elections results are announced.
In an interview with PTI at his residence in Gorakhpur, Bhojpuri superstar Ravindra Shukla, also known as Ravi Kishan, suggested that once INDIA takes over governance, it will run on shari’ah basis.
“These 26 parties are going to face defeat on June 4th. Over six of them will cease to exist and their candidates’ deposits would be forfeited,” said Mr. Kishan as he thumped the table in assertion.
“They are asking for running this country according to Shariah but this cannot happen because the country shall be run according to Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution.”
He said that welfare programs launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given power to the inhabitants of this country.
“Modi-Yogi’s welfare policies have reduced poverty among the poor and they want to pay back this favor through voting (for BJP). I have experienced this in 500 small gatherings with people,” he explained.
“We get public blessings for working hard…we don’t gain votes by dividing society on basis of castes,” he added.
On the other hand, opposition leaders are looking for votes to build palaces while BJP is asking votes for the nation.
“They take donations, then buy Fortuners and BMWs, diamond necklaces for their family members and we are fighting to build a country,” he exclaimed.
Whenever asked about spending his MPLAD funds Mr. Kishan has been accused of diversionary tactics by his opponents who say that he chants ‘Har Har Mahadev.’
“Our MP fund can be seen in smart classrooms for the poor, street lights, security cameras. In 2004, I made my first movie shooting in Gorakhpur and gave jobs people… They (Opposition) cannot provide even one job. It is useless responding to these guys’ noise,” he said.
According to Mr. Kishan on why Opposition parties claim that a BJP-led NDA wants 400-plus seat mandate so that it can change Constitution; “I haven’t witnessed worse politics than this. They descend down to this level only because they can’t beat Modi ji. Our PM respects our Constitution which he believes in.”
“That means constitution could have been changed when Article 370 was removed”, explained Mr. Kishan.
Article 370 of constitution giving special status to erstwhile state of Jammu Kashmir was abrogated on August 5, 2019
On June 1 voting will be conducted in Gorakhpur for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections.
