Congress hit out at the PM, Narendra Modi four years ago who stated “nobody has entered our territory” and asked whether Mr. Modi still believes that “na koi hamari seema mein ghus aaya hai, na hi koi ghusa hua hai?”
“Today marks four years since Prime Minister Modi gave China’s a clean slate publicly with his statement “na koi hamari seema mein ghus aaya hai, na hi koi ghusa hua hai.” This was made just days after 20 of our brave soldiers were killed in action in Galwan on June 15th. It was not only a major insult to the memory of our fallen comrades but also an endorsement of Chinese occupation of 2,000 square kilometres of Indian Territory in eastern Ladakh,” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a statement.
“These regions remain inaccessible to Indian troops. Chinese troops continue blocking India from accessing their territory at five points of patrolling within the strategic Depsang plains. Three other patrolling points in Demchok are off-limits to Indian soldiers as well. In Pangong Tso, our forces can now only access Finger 3 after previously being able to reach Finger 8,” added Mr.Ramesh.
He claimed that Helmet Top and Mukpa Re are no longer accessible by Indian graziers while Rezang La, Rinchen La and Table Top hills have been lost from Chushul. “Meanwhile, they have been prevented from going into Patrolling Points 15, 16 and 17 in Gogra-Hot Springs area resulting from this significant territorial loss to our unfriendly neighbour to the north,” put it Mr.Ramesh.
Moreover: “India had even taken down an erected Memorial for Major Shaitan Singh when we withdrew from reZang La as a buffer zone”. On November 18th 1962 An unyielding defense by the 13 Kumaon’s Charlie Company at Rezang La repulsed the largest Chinese attack and resulted in Chinese casualties. In that engagement, Major Shaitan Singh, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, and 113 brave soldiers made the supreme sacrifice thereby defending eastern Ladakh and accounting for several hundred enemy soldier casualties.”
“However, India still moved back from where Major Shaitan Singh laid down his life for this nation,” Mr. Ramesh remarked.
He claimed: “After giving a clean chit to China, we saw it continue with aggression along our borders including Bhutanese territory; it has strengthened its position in our immediate neighbourhood leading to withdrawal of troops from Maldives. Meanwhile, our imports from China have reached an all-time high putting our MSMEs into distress.”
Again he noted: “But Godi media with its control over institutions ensured there was no proper debate when we took the worst blow to Indian national security in sixty years.”
“There is no biological PM,” said Mr. Ramesh asking Modi if he maintains that “na koi hamari seema mein ghus aaya hai, na hi koi ghusa hua hai?”
Mr. Ramesh asked “Has he ceded control over thousands of square kilometers of Depsang and Demchok to China in perpetuity? And when will anyone be held accountable for India’s biggest strategic and intelligence failure in many decades.”
