Ramayana starring Yash, Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor interrupted due to copyright infringement case; to resume in three weeks: Reports
According to an insider at Mid-day, the shoot for Tiwari’s mythological epic was in fact stopped because of a copyright suit. “After the notice, filming went on for a while longer but has now stopped since last week. There are legal issues that need resolving so it will only start again once agreement is reached,” added an informant who confirmed that the cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama with other stars like Sunny Deol, Yash and Sai Pallavi.
The production house sources have however clarified that the movie is not cancelled but only delayed. The shooting is expected to be back on within three weeks. The concern behind the delay was due to scheduling conflicts involving lead actors.
Ranbir Kapoor also has been roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War which is coming later this year and Border 2 featuring Sunny Deol. Their absence from set will cause disruption hence working out a timetable by the production team—minimizing it. It will be split into two parts with six months between them when it will be release.
As Pinkvilla reports, Tiwari wants Ramayana to span over two grand movies according to his people inside. This approach would serve best given how massive and complicated its plot is. Unlike most film productions where part one’s success paves way for a sequel, Ramayana’s first installment shall happen concurrently with its second.
It has been reported that there will soon be an elaborate audio-visual presentation of Ramayana displaying the global talent pool involved in making it. While actors hail from all over India, this same international collaboration model can also be seen among technicians’ teams too… As we had earlier informed you about, Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman will compose music for Ramayana that will be jointly done by them.
