Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar went to the site where the statue of Chattra Pati Shivaji Maharaj fell on August 26.
Mr. Specifically, Pawar said, “he is irreconcilably sad over what has befallen. He considers Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a God. We all respect him for the purpose. The Chief Minister has. . . held conferences in regard to this. A movement is underway to construct the monument. Those responsible will be punished. They will be hunted, regardless of where they run to. There’s no point in arguing who’s responsible; whether it’s the Navy or the PWD”
He said that the government will ensure that the Maharaja’s great memorial is reconstructed in a proper manner about the shared commitment.
In a post on X, Ajit Pawar said, “I have gone to the site and made an assessment of the situation, I have also made an inspection of the fort. Shri Shivaji Maharaj is our self respect, our identity.”
He stated that the past experience will be considered foremost in deciding to award the contract. According to senior police officers from Kolhapur, Chetan Patil, structural consultant for the statue of Shivaji Maharaj, was arrested in Kolhapur.
Kolhapur Police’s crime branch began operations to hunt for Mr. Patil on Thursday, and he was arrested in Kolhapur at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday.
Mr. Patil is in the custody of the Sindhudurg Police and will be produced at Sindhudurg. In addition, a contractor associated with the case has been locked up by Sindhudurg Police.
An FIR was lodged at the Sindhudurg Police Station after the August 26 incident where the 35-foot statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fell. Replacing the idem on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in regard to its restoration, makes no doubts in him – speaking on Thursday he stressed on standing by the fact.
Among other things, two committees were set up: the grand revelation of the statue which came down in Malvan under investigation. The statue was unveiled on 4th December last year when Navy Day celebrations, held for the first time in Sindhudurg, were held.
