An FIR has been lodged against the contractor of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue constructed within the Rajkot Fort in India’s Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg, which was inaugurated by PM Modi exactly eight months earlier on Monday (August 26, 2024), for the statue that was constructed and fell.
With injuries and alleging of the very poor quality of construction at Khambale, there were heavy duty nuts and bolts made of iron which were rusted in the structure which made the public works department lodge a police case against the construction contractor J. Apte and structure consultant C. Patil. They were arrested on multiple counts for Morally Engineering; Conspiracy in India, conspiracy to commit terrorism and undermining public health and safety.
The officials as it became clear were arrested by the police said that no action was taken to physically eliminate the threat even when it was pointed out not once but on several occasions including a warning from the sub funtionary engineer division of the PWD Malvan who issued a warning on August 20.
The concerns over the nuts and bolts of the PWD as being a problem for the stability of the statue had been flagged by the subjects but these warnings fell on deaf ears, they told the police.
As stated by such an Emo, the steel embedded within the statue is already flaking off. “The PWD has already informed the officials of the Navy regarding this issue and has made requests to take action in regard to this issue,” he stated.
