A technical committee consisting of the representatives from the Indian Navy, the Maharashtra government and other technical heads is formed to look into the causes of damage to the statue of the Maratha Warrior King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Rajkot Fort, Sindhudurg which has occurred recently.
As per the Navy, the damage took place because of abnormal climatic conditions prevailing in the area.
This statue which is dedicated to the Maratha navy and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s contribution to maritime defense for the Indian Navy’s historical and modern day synthesis was unveiled by Prime Minister Modi on the Navy day on December 4 last year.
“State government was a coordinating partner of this venture and helped to finance it where Indian Navy was the one who routed and led the idea into a finished project.” said the Navy.
The Indian Navy has promised that it will take all possible actions necessary for the replacement and repair of the statue as soon as possible.
