Daughter of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced her divorce from Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Bin Mana Al Maktoum on Instagram on Tuesday, July 16th. This announcement comes just months after the couple welcomed their first child, a girl.
She accused Sheikh Mana of cheating in her Instagram post.She referred to the Islamic practice known as ‘triple talaq,’ which allows a man to dissolve his marriage by saying the phrase ‘talaq’ (divorce) three times. After that proclamation, Sheikha Mahra removed all pictures of her husband from her Instagram page, except for the image of her wedding gown.
This is a major separation within Dubai’s royal household; it has received significant attention since Sheikha Mahra made this statement about divorcing Sheikh Mana.
