PUNE: NCP (SP)’s Pune unit said party president Sharad Pawar canceled his event Ends on Monday health reasons. In a statement released on Sunday, city chairman Prashant Jagtap NCP Pawar (SP) said he suffered some discomfort in his throat while addressing a rally in Baramati in support of his daughter and sitting MP Supriya Sule earlier in the day.
All events scheduled for Monday by Pawar, including political rallies, have been canceled due to health reasons, he said, adding that the SP president was resting at his home in Baramati.
Pawar (83) has been actively campaigning for his party candidate in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra.
In the high-profile Baramati constituency, his daughter, three-time MP Supriya Sule, and his nephew, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pa Sunetra Pawar, wife of Ajit Pawar, competes.
Baramati is one of the 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state that will go to polls in the third phase on May 7.
