Equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty, attained new lifetime highs during early trades on Thursday, September 23, 2020, in the backdrop of the strong rally witnessed in the Asian markets and the emergence of buying activity in the IT stocks.
In the opening trade, the BSE Sensex surged by 202.3 points to unveil another all time high of 85372.17. NSE Nifty 51.85 points higher to score another lifetime high at 26056.
As regards the 30 Sensex companies, laurentiis gained sizeable shares from Maruti, Nestle, Tata Motors, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Consultancy Services, ITC and Bharti Airtel.
In the Asian markets, there were great gains in seoul markets, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hongkong.
U.S. markets mostly closed in red on September 25, 2024.
Foreign Institutional Investors sold equities worth 973.94 crore Rs. in India while the Domestic Institutional Investors were net buyers to the tune of 1778.99 crores in the said date.
“The outlook is rather neutral as there are no events which can lead to sharp market moves. Up moves may bring in profit booking by FIIs who will be shifting some other money into China and Hong Kong where the markets are reasonably valued and are turning positive,” said V.K. Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services.
But according to Mr. Vijayakumar, there is unlikely to be enough foreign institutional investor (FII) sell-off to cause the market to go down as the available liquidities within the local markets would readily soak up such pressures.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude advanced by 0.08% to $73.52 per barrel.
The BSE benchmark increased by 255.83 points or 0.30 % and ended at 85,169.87 an all time high weave recorded on Wednesday 25th September 2024. It during the day recorded an increase of 333.38 points or 0.39 % and headed to the high of 85,247.42 intra day high.
The Nifty advanced by 63.75 points up by 0.25 % to close the highest in history at 26004.15. The and intra day high of 26032.80, while during the course of the day it also rose 92.4 points or 35% cent above to a new intra day high increased 26032.80.
