Prabhat Jha, a veteran BJP leader and a one-time Rajya Sabha member, is dead. He died on Friday after a long illness at a Gurgaon hospital, party sources said. He was 67.
His wife and two sons survive him, they said.
Jha from Bihar began his career as a journalist in Gwalior. Later he joined the BJP and eventually became its Madhya Pradesh president in 2010.
In 2008 he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from MP, where he remained until 2020. In addition, party sources claim that Jha also held the post of National Vice President of BJP during this time frame.
They said his funeral rites will be done at his native place in Bihar on Saturday.
The death of senior politician left Mohan Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chouhan Union Agriculture Minister, MP BJP President Vishnu Dutt Sharma among others including KK Mishra Senior Congress Leader shocked or saddened by this news.
