The federal criminal sex trafficking case against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been reassigned to a new judge.
Judge Arun Subramanian will now preside over the case giving Combs another chance to apply for bail, after being denied for it twice.
Hip-hop mogul ‘Diddy’ appeared before Judge Subramanian on Thursday in Manhattan federal court, where a trial date of May 5 was set for him to face sex trafficking charges.
Initially, the case was assigned to Judge Andrew Carter, who was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2011.
The reason for the reassignment has not been disclosed.
As Combs awaits trial, he is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking by force, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy.
