Mythri Productions was about to be joined by Ranveer Singh in the forthcoming epic mythological-based period drama titled Rakshas directed by Prasanth Varma of Hanuman fame. The makers, in a statement to the press, confirmed it and assured that it will be a spectacle like never before. But now Ranveer Singh has suddenly walked out of this movie.

“He shot for a promo in Hyderabad announcing the film and during the shoot he realized he is not on the same wave length with the project. He couldn’t picture himself making films in South Cinema format. He came back to Mumbai much earlier than scheduled due to personal issues and it was only when he got halfway home from set that he told the producers that he wouldn’t be continuing,” said an insider.
This decision shocked everyone involved as they were all excited about launching the movie big time. “The report has however thrown everyone off balance as we thought everything was going smoothly. They are devastated and trying to figure out if there is any way back into the good graces of relevant people, after spending so much money on promos and preparations,” one insider close to producers revealed.
Meanwhile, another source close to Ranveer insists he has made up his mind and wants to move forward instead.
